Robinhood's APM New Grad Role: Is It More Competitive Than in 2024?
Robinhood's 2027 APM role drew at least 907 Simplify applicants in its first week. The bigger change since 2024 is who is allowed to apply.

Robinhood's Associate Product Manager role for new grads closes on October 14, 2026. It pays a flat $130,000 base in New York, starts in July 2027, and takes only students who are still enrolled and graduate between winter 2026 and summer 2027.
That last condition is new. Robinhood's 2024 posting took recent graduates, and about 3 in 10 people who applied through Simplify this time list a graduation date before the window.
The crowd is bigger too: at least 907 people applied through Simplify in the first week, 37% more than in 2024. That is about how much application volume grew across all of Simplify, so every posting draws a bigger crowd now, not just this one.
| Question | Answer, from Robinhood's posting and application |
|---|---|
| What is it? | A new grad APM role. The application calls it the "Associate Product Manager (APM) Program" |
| When does it start? | July 2027 |
| Where? | New York, in the office at least three days a week |
| What does it pay? | $130,000 base, plus bonus and equity |
| Who can apply? | Students currently enrolled in engineering, computer science, business, economics, or a related field, graduating between winter 2026 and summer 2027 |
| How much experience? | Zero to one year in product management, product development, or a related role |
| Rotations? | None mentioned |
| Deadline? | October 14, 2026 |
You can read the full text on Robinhood's Greenhouse page, or see Robinhood's posting on APMList next to the other live APM new grad roles, which refresh hourly.
Watch the time zone on that deadline. Behind the scenes, the application page sets the cutoff at 2 a.m. Eastern on October 14, which is 11 p.m. Pacific on October 13. Treat October 13 as your last day.
Demand kept pace with 2024, but the rush comes faster
As of October 5, 2026, at least 1,375 people have applied through Simplify alone, so the real total is higher. The fair comparison is Robinhood's last APM posting, from November 2024, which our tracking saw for about three weeks. Both postings had a full first week, and each count starts when the posting first appeared on Simplify.
| Applied through Simplify | November 2024 posting | September 2026 posting | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| First 24 hours | 271 | 475 | +75% |
| First 7 days | 661 | 907 | +37% |
In raw numbers, that is 37% more people in the first week. But applications across all of Simplify rose about 45% between those two weeks, mostly because job seekers now apply to more roles each.
Measured against that, Robinhood's first week came in about 5% below pace. Adjusted for Simplify's growth, demand for this role roughly kept pace with 2024, so the bigger crowd is the same one you will meet at every program this fall.
The rush comes sooner, though. First-day applicants rose 75%, and day one now brings in 52% of the first week's applicants, up from 41% in 2024.
So this was a crowded role in 2024, and it still is. Its 907 first-week applicants are about 2.7 times what Roblox's APM role (342) and Disney's new APM program (339) drew in their first weeks this fall, counted the same way. Applicant counts are not acceptance odds, though, and Robinhood has not said how many APMs it will hire.
Since that first week, new applicants through Simplify have slowed to about a dozen a day. If you have not applied yet, you are not too late, just behind most of the crowd.
Read the graduation window before you apply
Here is the eligibility line in full: "Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or a related field, graduating between Winter 2026 and Summer 2027."
We read "Winter 2026" as December 2026, because the same line says you must be currently enrolled, and a student who finished in a winter quarter that ended in March 2026 is not enrolled now. We read "Summer 2027" as running through August 2027.
The 2024 posting read differently: "Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program or recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field." This year, "or recent graduate" is gone.
We checked the latest graduation date on each applicant's Simplify profile. People enter these themselves, so treat them as self-reported.
| Graduation date on the profile | Share of Simplify applicants |
|---|---|
| Before December 2026 | 31% |
| December 2026 to August 2027 | 64% |
| After August 2027 | 3% |
| No date listed | 2% |
The biggest group outside the window is this year's graduates. About one applicant in five (21%) lists a 2026 graduation date before December.
That is an easy change to miss. The title says New Grad, and Robinhood's 2024 posting took recent graduates. Profiles also lag, so someone who started a master's program this fall may not have added it yet.
Key takeaway: the title says New Grad, but the eligibility line says currently enrolled. Robinhood wrote "or recent graduate" into its 2024 posting and took it out for 2026, so check your graduation date against the window before anything else.
If you are enrolled now and finish between December 2026 and summer 2027, you fit. The posting names no degree level, so a master's program counts too.
The application asks for your graduation month and year, and for a screener, a date outside the posted window is the quickest filter there is. It also asks whether a July 2027 start works for you, so if your degree ends in August 2027, decide how you will answer that before you apply.
If you graduate after summer 2027, this posting is too early for you. Robinhood has not posted a product management internship in any year we have tracked, so look at APM internships at other companies instead. In fintech, Coinbase's APM internship for summer 2027 is open now, and our Coinbase APM guide covers that program.
What changed between the 2024 and 2026 postings
The two postings describe the same job, and all five duty bullets match word for word. The differences are in who can apply and where you would work.
| November 2024 | September 2026 | |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Associate Product Manager | Associate Product Manager (New Grad) |
| Who can apply | Currently enrolled or recent graduate | Currently enrolled, graduating winter 2026 to summer 2027 |
| Fields named | Engineering, computer science, or related | Adds business and economics |
| Degree level | Bachelor's or master's | Not stated |
| Location | Menlo Park or New York | New York |
| Office time | In-office, details from your recruiter | At least three days a week |
| Base pay | $130,000 in Zone 1, which held both locations | $130,000 |
| Pay extras | Bonus plan and equity plan | Bonus, equity, and "multipliers for outsized impact" |
| AI in hiring | Named its AI hiring tool, Covey Scout | General AI disclosure |
| "Apply even if unsure" line | Included | Removed |
The base pay has not moved in two years: $130,000 both times. The 2024 posting also listed $115,000 and $102,000 for Robinhood's lower pay zones, but its only locations, Menlo Park and New York, were both in the $130,000 zone.
That $130,000 sits below the $143,000 Roblox posted for its San Mateo APM this fall, and level with the top of Disney's $97,500 to $130,700 range for Los Angeles. Our APM salary guide covers how base, bonus, and equity add up.
On AI, Robinhood says it uses AI tools to "support parts of our recruiting process" and that "all hiring decisions are made by our hiring teams," but it does not say which parts. In 2024 it named the tool, Covey Scout for Inbound, and said it began using it on September 19, 2024. Either way, software may read your resume before a person does.
Business and economics majors are named now, and were applying anyway
The 2026 posting adds business and economics by name. That looks like news for business majors, but they were already applying.
Business and economics majors made up about 16% of Simplify applicants in 2024 and 15% this year. Nearly two thirds of this year's applicants study a technical field like computer science, engineering, or data science.
The difference is that you no longer have to argue that business counts as "a related field." The bar is the same for every major: "Sharp analytical and technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to make data-driven decisions."
If your degree is in business, put proof of the technical half where a recruiter looks first. A SQL analysis or a product teardown with real numbers in it does more than a line about being analytical.
Use the posting's own words where they are true. Our PM resume keywords guide found that postings describe the job with verbs like collaborate and partner far more than lead, and Robinhood's first duty is "Collaborate with engineering, design, research, data science, and marketing teams." Simplify's Resume Builder checks your resume against Robinhood's posting before you send it.
A program with a July start, but no rotations
Robinhood's application calls this the "Associate Product Manager (APM) Program" and says it will begin July 2027, so it starts on a fixed date, like a cohort. The posting itself never mentions rotations or a program length.
That sets it apart from Disney's and Roblox's programs, which also opened this fall. Disney's runs two years with a team switch at the 12-month mark, and Roblox describes a 21-month rotational program. Robinhood describes a product manager job with "direct mentorship from some of the most accomplished product leaders in the industry."
If you already know you want to build financial products, one team in New York is a fine trade, and the posting promises pay "multipliers for outsized impact." If you want to try a few product areas before you choose, a rotational program fits you better. Simplify's ranking of the best APM programs for new grads weighs rotations directly.
Either way, ask your recruiter how Robinhood matches APMs to teams and whether you get a say. The posting does not tell you.
When Robinhood posts this role
Our tracking covers nearly 2,500 Robinhood postings since August 2021. It shows two APM postings, and none in 2025.
| Posted | Title | Location | What our tracking saw |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nov 11, 2024 | Associate Product Manager | Menlo Park or New York | Stopped seeing it on Dec 2, 2024 |
| Sep 14, 2026 | Associate Product Manager (New Grad) | New York | Open, with a deadline of Oct 14, 2026 |
This year's posting also went up about two months earlier in the calendar than the last one. Two postings are too few to predict the next one, so don't count on a fall 2027 posting. If you fit this window, apply to this one.
For the rest of your fall, see when every APM program opens, and save the roles you apply to in Simplify's free Job Tracker so they sit in one place.
Prepare for the interview with Robinhood's own launches
We could not find a public, first-hand account of Robinhood's APM interviews. Be skeptical of anyone who claims to know the exact rounds.
What you can prepare for is the job the posting describes. Its duties include "Lead product launches" and "Set and monitor KPIs to measure success," and it asks for "a passion for fintech," so expect product questions where the user's money is at stake.
Practice on products Robinhood has announced, all from its own newsroom:
- In September 2026, Robinhood announced Robinhood Agents, which it says can "analyze the market, build strategies, and trade on your behalf around the clock." What guardrails would you ship in version one, and what metric would tell you an agent is hurting customers?
- Robinhood says 13.6 billion event contracts traded on its prediction markets in the second quarter of 2026. How would you pick the next event category to list, and how would you tell whether it is good for customers and not just for volume?
- Robinhood Social, in beta since March 2026, verifies every trader profile through KYC. How would you keep a social trading feed from becoming a place to pump stocks?
- The posting opens with Robinhood's claim that an estimated $124 trillion in assets will be inherited by younger generations over the next two decades. Pick one product for a 27-year-old who just inherited $50,000. What do you build first, and how will you know it worked?
Answer each one out loud, with a number in it. In a money product, one bad experience can cost you the customer, so say how your idea protects trust as well as how it grows usage. For the rounds most APM programs run, see our APM interview process guide.
Questions people ask about Robinhood's APM role
Is Robinhood's APM role remote?
No. The role is based in New York, with in-office attendance expected at least three days a week.
How much does Robinhood pay APMs?
The posting lists a $130,000 base, plus bonus, equity, and 401(k) matching. It also lists 100% paid health insurance for employees.
Does Robinhood sponsor visas for the APM role?
The posting does not say. The application asks, "Will you now (or in the future) require visa sponsorship in order to work in the US?" About 29% of the people who applied through Simplify said they need sponsorship, so ask your recruiter on the first call.
Is it a rotational program?
The posting mentions no rotations. Robinhood calls it a program with a July 2027 start, but the posting reads like one product manager job with mentorship.
When is the deadline?
Robinhood's application page says October 14, 2026, with the cutoff at 2 a.m. Eastern that day. Apply by October 13.
Can I apply if I already graduated?
As written, no. The posting asks for students currently enrolled and graduating between winter 2026 and summer 2027, and it dropped the "recent graduate" option the 2024 posting had.
Do I need a computer science degree?
No. The posting names engineering, computer science, business, economics, or a related field.
Do this next: apply to Robinhood's APM role on Simplify by October 13. The Greenhouse form asks for your school, degree, graduation date, and work authorization, and Simplify Copilot fills most of it in for you. If you don't know anyone at Robinhood, Simplify's Robinhood page shows ways to get referred, and the live APM new grad roles list has your next applications.
